Founded in 2016, Aadharshila Kala Kendra has been a cornerstone of artistic excellence, nurturing talent and inspiring creativity in the fields of music and dance. With a passion for the arts at our core, we have grown and are continuously growing started from a small community to a prestigious institution. Aadharshila Kala Kendra is dedicated to promoting the practice, development and awareness of Kathak Dance as a performing art tradition in contribution towards the classical heritage of the nation.
Aadharshila Kala Kendra (AKKA) was founded by Smt. Durga Basak (Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad). The institute is established in the year 2016 in Delhi and registered with Registrar of Societies NCT of Delhi under Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the name of AADHARSHILA KALA KENDRA ASSOCIATION located in Shastri Nagar, Delhi.

Smt. Durga Basak has been honoured with the prestigious “Nrityangana” award at the 8th International Classical Dance Festival. organised by Nrityanjali, New Delhi (Dec 2024) and previously at the 6th edition of the festival has showcased her talent through remarkable performances, including the presentation of the traditional “Dhunuchi” dance at Sanskriti Bhavan, New Delhi (Oct 2024) and a mesmerising stage performance at the cultural event in Balloon Fiesta, organised by Bharat Manch Trust, Delhi (Oct 2024). Her artistic journey also includes a captivating Kathak performance at an event organised by the National Institute of Indian Classical Dance, New Delhi (Sep 2024) and a distinguished performance at an event held at the Embassy of Ethiopia (Sep 2024). Additionally, she participated in the "Nav Nirman Bharat" event organised by Akhil Bhartiya Sarvangin Vikas Sangathan in 2016, supporting the nationwide initiative of "Demonetization and Cashless Receipts & Payments" introduced by the Prime Minister of India.
